Raberto School Extolled the Noblest Profession

"A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops", (Henry Brooks 1838-1918).

To commemorate the 2015 World Teachers Day with the theme "Empowering Teachers, Building Sustainable Societies" Raberto Schools on October 5 celebrated her teachers. The day's activities commenced with an air of atmospheric grandeur as teachers were colourfully dressed. The ladies were smartly dressed in two piece suits with a touch of pink which signifies the beauty of the noble profession while the gentlemen appeared awesome in their two piece suits, white inner shirts and pink.

Special highlights of the occasion include:

* Joint Morning Assembly

There was a joint morning assembly of the different school sections where pupils and students were allowed to take coordinate activities. Pupils talked about the qualities of a good teacher in contrast with a bad one. Students on the other hand mimicked teachers? activities in the classroom and at the same time eulogized them with the recitation of the poem "God Bless My Teacher" by Bisi Adegboyega.

* Parents as Teachers

Some parents were in the school as early as the First Lesson Period to teach from the Nursery through the Senior Secondary School Classes. Some went a step further by presenting gifts to their children?s teachers.

* General Party

There was a general party in the afternoon in the School Hall where teachers were treated to colourful entertainment by the pupils and students. There were presentation on ?How Well Do You Know Your Teacher? and ?Appreciation of a Secondary School Form Tutors?. There was also gift exchanges among teachers.

To crown the event, teachers were treated to a sumptuous buffet. ?Teachers rewards are indeed gradually coming down to the earth".
